Volunteer: Activist for Housing JusticeHousing justice for all is a community, not individual battle. Tenants Union is seeking passionate people to help protect tenants rights through various volunteering opportunities. Ways to get involved range from basic office organization tasks, being trained to handle the tenant hot line, and advocating at City Hall. With the help of dedicated volunteers Tenants Union is able to defend a wider base of Directions: Our offices are in Seattle, just south of the Columbia City neighborhood of the Rainier Valley, on the corner of Rainier Avenue S and S Lucile Street. We share the office with a dentist, and our sign is visible only from Lucile Street. It is a little grey building on the west side of the street. We are two blocks north of Orcas Avenue. Parking is available both in the small lot in front of the building on Rainier Avenue and on Lucile Street. The entrance to the TU is on the back of the building, up the stairs from the parking lot. By Bus: From downtown Seattle you can take the 7 or the 9. Get off at Brandon Street, then walk one block south to Lucile Street. From the Orcas Avenue stop, walk two blocks north to the TU office. By Car: From I-5 North of South, take the Columbian Way exit. Take Columbian Way to Rainier Avenue South. Columbian Way winds over Beacon Hill. It changes names, first to 15th Avenue South and then to South Alaska Street. At the bottom of the hill you'll hit Rainier Ave. The trick is to stay on the main drag. If you get off on to a residential street you've made a wrong turn. Turn right (south) on Rainier, and drive one half mile to Lucile Street. The office will be on the right hand side, on the corner of Rainier and Lucile. Organization: Tenants Union Of Washington Housing justice for all is a community, not individual battle.
