Volunteer: Classroom Volunteer Fall 2025 StartVolunteers needed in our preschool classrooms to start in Fall of 2025! Fifty percent of children in our state enter kindergarten unprepared. Low-income and immigrant children who enter kindergarten fare even worse at 74% below expected language, communication and literacy assessments. Denise Louie Education Center provides multicultural early learning and family support services to help prepare Seattle kids and families for kindergarten and success in school and life. The classroom volunteer will help support the classroom and give the children a safe and engaging environment for them to learn in. This position will allow you to gain experience working with children, practice teaching skills, and learn different teaching styles. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, reading/storytelling, administrative work, escorting children, playing games, cleaning, doing art work, and helping with meals. The development volunteer will work alongside the Development Coordinator assisting him/her with work related to donors, in-kind donations, grants, and events.
