Shifts Available:

Our grocery distribution program runs during the following times, and you can select a shift that works best for you:

Tuesdays:

11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

12:00 PM – 3:00 PM

11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Wednesdays: At capacity

Thursdays: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Your Role:

As a Grocery Distribution Volunteer, you will:

Greet and assist clients as they select their groceries.

Restock items on the grocery line and help maintain a clean, organized space.

Carry bags or assist clients as needed.

Support a safe and welcoming environment for all.

You Are:

Friendly, approachable, and eager to help people from diverse backgrounds.

Comfortable in a fast-paced setting and able to lift items weighing up to 25–50 lbs.

Available during weekday shifts and able to commit to a regular weekly schedule of 2–3 hours.

Open to receiving instructions and collaborating with a supportive team.

Bonus: Knowledge of a second language (Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, Russian, etc.) is helpful but not required!

Why Join Us?

Every week, the Pike Market Food Bank delivers 100-125 bags of groceries to our homebound neighbors in and around Pike Place Market. This essential service depends on volunteers like you! Whether on foot or assisting with driving routes, you’ll deliver groceries while building meaningful connections with clients along your route.

Your Role:

Deliver Groceries: Bring 15-25 lb bags to a set list of clients using a cart, delivering up to 15 bags at a time.Pack Perishables: Help pack produce and other perishable items on the morning of delivery, tailoring bags to dietary needs like gluten-free, low sodium, and vegan.Build Relationships: Be a friendly and reliable presence, ensuring clients feel supported.

You Are:

Empathetic and respectful of disabled and homebound individuals.Passionate about food access and community support.Comfortable lifting up to 25 lbs and using a loaded cart on sidewalks.Complete a background check (at no cost to you).Reliable and Punctual

We Provide:

Training on your route with a staff member.Packing support for non-perishable and perishable items.Ongoing assistance and a supportive team environment.
