QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education and Experience:       

Required:

Minimum 18 years of age Flexible schedule based on project objectives (8 hours per month, M-F 10 to 4) Ability to interact with a variety of people. Respect of diverse lifestyles, cultures, religions, and values

 

Preferred:

Previous volunteer experience Experience in non-profit setting Bi-lingual a plus but not required

Organizational Overview and Mission

At Refugee Artisan Initiative, our mission is to transform the lives of refugee and immigrant women by providing sustainable employment in sewing and handcrafting products. 

 Member, Ambassador Engagement Committee

The purpose of the Ambassador Engagement Committee is to support RAI leadership and team by actively championing the organizations’ strategies and efforts to further the goals of the organization. The committee will provide expertise, insights and guidance on donor engagement strategies, stewardship events, board member participation. They will also serve as a resource to staff and leadership on potential growth and expansion activities, and as an ambassador of RAI, will provide critical connections to community influencers.

 Expectations of Members:

Act in good faith and in the best interest of the organization, to consider all the information available to them and to use prudence, critical thinking and circumspection when making decisions.

Attend a minimum of two committee meetings each year and be available for phone calls and/or touch base meetings with team members as needed. Meetings will be available either in person or by phone. Serve as a critical link between the organization and the community - using their influence to draw support of associates and community influencers. Assist in planning and staffing fundraising and stewardship events. Host in-home luncheon or reception for loyal donors.

 

Candidate Profile

Strong dedication and commitment to the mission and vision of RAI. Understanding of the culture of the nonprofit sector in Washington state. Previous leadership experience within the marketing and communications field (preferred). Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
