Addressing all students' social and emotional needs by teaching the values of citizenship and providing school-wide positive behavioral support. Serving all students' academic needs by maintaining high expectations and differentiating instruction.
What We Do
We educate children ages 5-11 in a Seattle elementary school Our focus is academics, social emotional learning, and overall wellness. Volunteers work with students on reading: decoding, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. Volunteers may with individuals or small groups in the classroom or in the hallway on literacy games, reading, writing, and other activities. Volunteers are trained on all the games and activities, ways to build relationships, and how to support social emotional learning in our school. We try to match volunteers with students so that both feel successful, happy, and fulfilled. I hope you will join our amazing Wedgwood community.
