Who We Are

We are a volunteer-run community based organization seeking to support struggling low-income adult college students to continue their education through e-mentoring. The program is currently recruiting its first group of mentors to begin supporting students in the 2021-22 academic year. All mentoring will be done using mutually agreed upon on-line technology such as texting, video conferencing (Zoom) or email. Expected time commitment is about 4 hours a month. Training and mentor support will be provided and conducted on-line.

What We Do

The Mentoring Project is now accepting e-Mentor applications! The Mentoring Project pairs trained community volunteer mentors with adult low-income students to provide guidance as they navigate their path to postsecondary degree or certificate completion. The 1:1 relationship, conducted on-line, aims to create stability for the student through regular check-ins, good listening and supporting the student’s belief in their capacity to problem solve.
