Baseball Beyond Borders

Baseball Beyond Borders is a sports based youth development organizations that strives to teach critical life skills to youth of color while using sports as a framework. The BBB Kings baseball team allows for skill, communication, and leadership development while engaging in competitive play. In addition, we have the Moving Beyond 12 program, which is a comprehensive college/career prep curriculum that helps prepare youth for life after high school. We help them connect their skills and passions to the necessary post-secondary education and training to achieve their goals.

Baseball Beyond Borders levels the playing field one community at a time by helping student-athletes of color connect their passion for baseball with their academic future. Youth in underserved communities often get overlooked and left out of playing baseball. Societal mindsets often create barriers for racial equity and access leaving so much untapped potential hidden and unknown. Socioeconomic disparities keep many youth from playing a game they love because they cannot afford to play. Not having productive options like baseball increases the likelihood that youth will engage in risky behavior that affects their current and future mental, physical, social, and emotional wellbeing. The overall community’s wellbeing is at stake as well depending on youth’s development and contribution to society. Neither skin color nor household income should keep youth from playing baseball and exploring their potential both on and off the field
