Who We Are

Puget Sound Peer is a peer-led organization dedicated to empowering individuals with lived experience in mental health challenges, substance use, and housing instability. Our mission is to equip people with the tools, support, and leadership opportunities they need to heal, rebuild, and advocate for change in their own lives and communities. Our vision is to create a future where lived experience is valued as expertise, and peer-led support is widely accessible, helping individuals break cycles of instability and thrive. Founded by individuals who have firsthand experience navigating these challenges, Puget Sound Peer was built on the belief that those most impacted by systems of oppression should be leading the solutions. Our work focuses on providing peer support, mentorship, and system navigation to ensure that no one has to struggle alone.

What We Do

Puget Sound Peer provides peer support, mentorship, and leadership training to help individuals recover, stabilize, and thrive. We do this through: - Peer Support & Counseling – One-on-one mentorship and support groups for mental health, addiction recovery, and housing stability. - Peer Advocacy & Leadership Academy (PALA) – Training individuals with lived experience to become Certified Peer Counselors and community advocates. - Behavioral Health Services – Establishing Medicaid-billable peer counseling to create long-term sustainability. - Youth & Family Support – Working with at-risk youth, schools, and juvenile facilities to provide guidance and wraparound support. We believe in shifting power back to the community and ensuring that lived experience is at the center of real, lasting change. Volunteers play a critical role in expanding our impact—join us in building a stronger, more supportive future!
