Pacific Northwest Black Pride

Who We Are

We are a locally and administratively run organization born from the heartbeat of our community. While our roots and spirit are deeply anchored in the resilience, artistry, and history of the underground ballroom scene, we have organized beyond the runway to build a sustainable platform for advocacy and action. We exist to provide a vital voice for the Black LGBTQIA+ community. By transitioning cultural influence into structured support, we work tirelessly to reduce social and physical harm, champion holistic wellness, and create safe, affirming spaces. We are more than a network—we are a self-determined movement dedicated to celebrating our joy, protecting our people, and administrative excellence from the ground up.

What We Do

PNW Black Pride is about resisting hate, resisting abuse and fostering real growth in our community. It is refusing to accept discrimination and rejecting inequality whenever and wherever we come across it. To take away one’s pride is to take away one’s identity. It is the opposite of resistance - it is giving in. Not only this, but we bring a voice to celebrate the Black LGBTQIA+ community and support efforts to reduce harm and risk both socially and physically within our space. Through Black Pride, we actively champion intersectional visibility, uplift queer Black joy, and create affirming spaces where our community can show up authentically. We are dedicated to bridging the gaps in wellness, fostering deep connections, and honoring the rich history and resilience of those who paved the way for our collective liberation.
