ConnectNTech

Who We Are

ConnectNTech empowers seniors to navigate the digital world with confidence - fostering connection, independence, and peace of mind. This organization started when Audrey Shieh, the founder and President, realized that her grandma wasn't able to perform functions on her phone that would make her life easier. She saw that there was a lack of support for seniors and decided to step in. Every time she sees a smile on a senior's face, she is filled with gratitude at the opportunity to help others.

What We Do

Our nonprofit involves helping seniors with their tech issues and helping them stay safe and connected in this digital world. Our organization is called ConnectNTech which currently has four main branches that are currently in-operation or are being worked on to start later this summer. The first branch is one-on-one tech help with seniors. A team of 3-5 volunteers will go to Solista Senior Home for about an hour every two weeks. The volunteers go and give them one-on-one tech support to ensure that their needs are met. This tech support can include changing the font, brightness, deleting contacts, adding or deleting printers, etc. We work closely with the activity service coordinator to ensure that each senior is able to meet the times that we are providing the service for. We will expand this program to a senior home in Seattle doing very similar things. We plan to reach more people in the greater WA area and have partnered with a local nonprofit called TeensWhoCare who has reached over 1.5 thousand seniors in the WA area to ensure that our impact can be even greater. Through close contact with TeensWhoCare we have been able to volunteer at a senior home called Timber Ridge at Talus as well as the Issaquah library. Through this program we have been able to reach over 100+ seniors. Our second program that runs at ConnectNTech is a partnership with another local nonprofit called Transcend United. We have been able to create a WeChat miniprogram to help seniors apply for various health scans and talk to a doctor and KinDr clinic. This service is doing but is awaiting A2P phone number authentication. This program should be in use with the 600+ members of KinDr. The third program that ConnectNTech offers is online video/YouTube support for patients. This includes videos on how to print, how to translate, how to change brightness and font. The fourth program that ConnectNTech offers is an online curriculum that will teach seniors basic functions of their device.
