Who We Are
The Briarcrest Community is dedicated to empowering and inspiring students to reach their academic, social and personal best as we celebrate our successes. Briarcrest Elementary School was built in 1954 and recently celebrated its 50th anniversary with a community wide picnic. Briarcrest is truly a community school. The building and field are used by many community groups such as: the YMCA, Univac, Girl Scouts, Briarcrest Neighborhood Association, City of Shoreline, Shorelake Soccer,North King County Little League and Shorecrest High School students. Our school is within walking distance of our feeder middle and high schools, Kellogg Middle School and Shorecrest High School.
What We Do
Briarcrest Elementary School is a neighborhood school in the City of Shoreline just north of the Seattle city limits and east of Interstate 5. It is a kindergarten through sixth grade school with 470 students. Approximately 45% of these students are learning English as a second language or are part of the federal free and reduced lunch program. The Briarcrest PTA has been instrumental in bringing performing arts and science activities to our school. The diversity of activities and high needs of our students provides many opportunities for volunteers. Please check out our volunteer opportunities!
