Who We Are

"If we cannot add days to the life of a child, we will add life to their days."

The goal of Ladybug House is to build and operate Seattle's first palliative care home and hospice for children with life-limiting illnesses and and offer respite and support to her families. Ladybug House became a 501c3 in 2014. The Founder Suzanne Gwynn has been an R.N. for over 33 years and witnessed the need first hand while working nights on the pediatric cancer units. Ladybug House will be the first hospice for children in Seattle. We have garnered in-kind support from many downtown law firms, architects, builders and other professionals. We also have received much support from Seattle Universities schools of Business, Nursing and Non Profit Leadership.

Suzanne’s efforts have caught the attention of the White House, where she was invited as an “Honored Maker Attendee” for the first ever White House Maker Faire held on June 18, 2014.  The next day she was able to meet with Washington State Senators Cantwell and Murray who are both supporting her efforts.

What We Do

Ladybug House will be the first palliative care home and hospice for children not only in Seattle but in the PNW. There are currently only two children's specific homes  in the entire country. Ladybug House will offer a multidisciplinary approach providing care to children with all life-limiting illnesses while being there for the families. We will provide this care with no out of pocket charges to the families.
