Who We Are

At Bailey-Boushay House, our mission is to provide exceptional care to people with HIV/AIDS as well as those needing end-of-life care with conditions including cancer, ALS and Huntington’s disease, among others.
Many of our clients and residents are disenfranchised and usually not given the simple respect and care every human deserves. They are facing serious health issues, yet they have been overlooked and underserved.

The Residential Care Program is a 35 bed skilled nursing facility for people living with HIV/AIDS and other life threatening illnesses. The program provides 24 hour support to individuals who require a higher level of care than a traditional nursing home can offer.

The Outpatient Program serves people with HIV/AIDS who are living independently in the community, housed or unhoused. Medication management, nursing care, counseling, meal service, and social activities are available to approximately 350 clients living with HIV/AIDS. The program operates seven days a week from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM for those not utilizing our Emergency Homeless Shelter.

Emergency Homeless Shelter Guests  have access to our on-site low-barrier shelter 24/7.  Since November 2018, Bailey-Boushay House has been meeting the shelter needs for 50 of Bailey-Boushay House's most vulnerable clients.

What We Do

Our dedicated and caring volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.

A listening ear, sharing conversation over coffee, being a supportive presence, celebrating holidays and special events, and assisting staff with outings and weekly activities.  It’s the little things that matter.

At Bailey-Boushay House, residents and clients find staff and volunteers who truly care; and an environment that nurtures each individual.

Seeking to fill equity gaps, and using a trauma informed care lens, our programs are designed to meet the complex needs of our clients and residents, and help them live with dignity.

We are looking for volunteers who have a desire to make a difference in the lives of those with HIV/AIDS and other life altering illnesses.

We ask that volunteers assess their life and their schedules to determine of they can make the minimum requirement of 100 hours, choosing one consistent 4-hour shift each week (the average length of time to meet this minimum is 6-8 months).
