Operation Nightwatch

Who We Are

Every night, we feed hungry people. Every night, we are a refuge for our friends experiencing homelessness. Every night, we care for seniors. And in these perilous times, we keep on making friends with people surviving outside.

Here's how we help:

Food -- Every night at 8 pm, Nightwatch volunteers prepare and serve a hot, indoor meal for about 150 people.

Shelter -- Nightwatch provides emergency shelter for both men and women; 20 beds for men at Julia's Place, and 20 for women at Donna Jean's Place, every night of the year.

Senior Housing -- Permanent affordable housing is provided for 24 formerly-homeless seniors in a dorm-style setting, with shared kitchens and bathrooms. Our Housing Coordinator helps to keep our seniors safe and housed by providing meals, friendship, and support.

Street Ministry -- Nightwatch street ministers and committed volunteers provide food and friendship to people experiencing homelessness. Street teams provide a wide range of services, including ID replacement, bus tickets home, information and referrals. Socks, blankets, food and water are distributed as well.

Case management -- Our Case Manager helps our shelter guests find and connect with resources like jobs and housing.

Medical -- Our medical clinic volunteers provide basic care & referrals for our shelter guests and a pop-up clinic at our Dispatch Center.

Nightwatch provides food, shelter, housing, and hope. Please join us.

What We Do

Volunteers help people experiencing homelessness by preparing and serving meals at night, distributing essential supplies, and listening to the stories homeless people have to share.

Volunteers can provide a variety of support services for our senior tenants. This support might include light chores, trips to the store, friendly visits, gardening, and assisting with community meals.

Whether it's greeting, setting up, or logistics, volunteers play an integral part during our community and fundraising events.

We do not require any religious activity on the part of clients or volunteers, though we are broadly Christian.
