Who We Are

Since 1912, Girl Scouts has been on a mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character. As a leadership development organization, our aim is for every girl in western Washington—regardless of her race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, disability, gender identity, or geographic location—to be empowered to fulfill her potential and make the world a better place. We serve more than 25,000 girls and 12,500 adult members across 17 counties in western Washington.

What We Do

Our program centers on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience—a collection of activities and experiences girls have as they earn badges, explore the outdoors, sell cookies, dive into STEM, do projects that make a difference, and more. Put simply, Girl Scouts: • Discover: They find out who they are, what they care about, and what their talents are. • Connect: They collaborate with other people, locally and globally, to make a difference in the world. • Take Action: They take action to make the world a better place. We also support the needs of the diverse girls and families in western Washington through a variety of staff-led programs. These include Girl Scouts Beyond Bars—which serves daughters of incarcerated parents—Girl Scouts School Day—where we partner with local schools—and Her Vision Her Voice—which serves girls in public housing communities.
