Jubilee Women's Center

Jubilee Women’s Center supports women experiencing poverty to build stable and fulfilling futures, one extraordinary woman at a time. Led by the guiding principle that women of all races and cultures are to be treated with respect and dignity, Jubilee provides programs and services that empower women to make positive life changes.

Since our founding in 1983, Jubilee Women’s Center has transformed the lives of more than 1000 homeless and low-income women through programs that provide safe, affordable and supportive community housing and learning opportunities to empower each woman to become financially independent.

Last year Jubilee Women's Center served 1,672 women in the community with classes on technology, life skills and job readiness, along with a free clothing boutique, community referrals, and computer lab.

Jubilee’s approach is based on a three-part strategy to help women overcome barriers, build resiliency, and maintain long-term stability. We address significant barriers for the women we serve related to basic needs, physical health, trauma and mental health, communications and connections, and legal issues. We help women build resiliency through financial health by gaining living wage employment, government benefits (if unable to work due to a disability), job training, financial management education, and finding affordable, independent housing. Finally, we help maintain long-term stability by helping them repair past relationships with friends and family, and build their support networks. We also help them cultivate their spiritual health by gaining life balance and giving back to the community.
