Who We Are

Our mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

The Opportunity Gap describes the ways in which the education playing field is not level for all students, even before the first day of class. Race, English proficiency, income, and other environmental factors all contribute to why individuals may face opportunity gaps throughout their lives, hindering them from achieving the same academic success as their peers.

We must close the opportunity gap in education if we want to close achievement gaps and this is where our work comes in.

What We Do

We empower students to break through personal challenges and create access to resources and opportunities that help them overcome the barriers that stand between them and an equitable path to education.

Working directly in 38 schools across the Renton, Tukwila, Lake Washington, Issaquah, and Seattle school districts, we support students who are furthest from educational justice. Our evidence-based model of Integrated Student Support, which is a student-centered approach firmly grounded in the research on child and youth development, is designed to promote educational, social and emotional development of students and position them to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
