Who We Are

Mother Africa supports African women immigrants and refugees and their families to reach their highest potentials. We are committed to building leadership, advocacy and community action capacity to reduce barriers to health, education, safety and economic independence while fostering an empowering environment that celebrates cultural diversity, families and socioeconomic growth. We have been active since 2012 in South King County and have an office in Kent.

What We Do

We provide a variety of programs to support African women and their families. Our key programs are: Resilient Women- a monthly women's group that engages in the topics of creating resilient relationships and strength for women facing increased adversity due to our current political climate. BSK Homelessness Prevention- for families with children under age 24 BSK Best 4 Babies- providing support to expectant mothers to navigate services and providing social support BSK Flourishing and Resilient Children- early development screening for children age birth to 5 SAFARI- providing general case management to residents of Kent, Federal Way, Tukwila, Auburn and Renton Environmental Justice projects- Salish Sea Collective and ongoing education and outreach projects
