Mission: Empowering members of the community to maintain independence by fostering connections to others and facilitating access to resources

A virtual village is a member-driven, grassroots, non-profit community organization bringing neighbors together to help each other thrive as they progress through life's changes.

Generally developed by and for older residents, villages typically offer a mix of member-inspired social/cultural/informational programs, volunteer help, vetted/discounted service providers, and information and referrals to local agencies. Members pay an annual fee to access all resources by making a single phone call or visiting the organization's web site.

Being part of a village offers some of the benefits of a retirement community but without the need to move out of one's home.
