Who We Are
Our mission at Providence Health System is to continue the healing ministry of Jesus in today's world, with special concern for the poor and vulnerable. Working with others in a spirit of loving service, we strive to meet the health needs of individuals as they journey through life. Providence Marianwood (then called "Marianwood Extended Care Services") opened on March 14, 1986. The opening represented the culmination of a decade of planning by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace and PeaceHealth for a long term care facility on the Eastside. On February 1, 1996, ownership of Marianwood was transferred from PeaceHealth to the Providence Health System.
What We Do
At the skilled nursing facility there are 60 long term care beds that provide 24 hour skilled nursing care. There are 31 Alzheimer/dementia care beds to provide the innovative GentleCare(TM) program and 29 Medicare certified beds for patients who are transitioning from hospital to home and need complex medical care and rehabilitation. In addition, physical, occupational, speech and recreation therapists; a case manager; social workers; a nurse practitioner; a registered pharmacist; and a chaplain are on staff.
