Who We Are
We are a public garden, owned under the umbrella of the Shoreline parks department, but overseen and managed by a non-profit board. The garden was started by Art and Mareen Kruckeberg, who lived and raised their family there, while furthering their botanical pursuits, Art as a botany professor at U.W., and Mareen, a highly acclaimed horticulturist. The foundation was formed to enusure that their legacy was preserved, and to grant the community access to their botanical oasis. We feel we are honoring their wishes..l
What We Do
The Kruckeberg Botanic Garden is a public garden in Shoreline, focusing on educating & promoting the use of native plants and natural gardening practices. We offer classes for youth and adults alike, with botanical, as well as a craft emphasis. We also have an onsite nursery, selling in-house propagated plants to further help support the garden. Tours are also something we offer.
