Who We Are

The King County (WA) Housing Authority is a national leader in providing innovative and effective housing solutions so that people and communities can prosper. Our vision is that all residents of King County have quality affordable housing.

KCHA owns and manages almost 3,500 units of subsidized housing for families, the elderly, and disabled people. More than 5,680 units of other rental housing are financed through tax credits or tax-exempt bonds. Section 8 vouchers also help more than 11,000 households rent affordable private-market housing. Combined with supportive services, each year we reach more than 49,000 people who earn less than the county's median income.

What We Do

The King County Housing Authority continues to build and expand community facilities at many of its properties. These resources keep families healthy and help children succeed in school. They also help parents attain job skills that support economic self-sufficiency.
