Who We Are

The Ethiopian Community in Seattle fosters a sense of togetherness, cooperation and feeling of association around core values that are important and mutual to all Ethiopians in the Northwest.

What We Do

ECS is a non-profit organization established to provide community and support services to Ethiopian immigrants in the greater Seattle area. Since its inception in 1983, ECS has been a place where Ethiopians have come to find and foster community and moral support. ECS offers many social services to its members including assistance with public housing, shelters, employment, counseling, translation of important documents, and travel documents. ECS also offers interpreting services for those with limited English, and counsels members on health, legal, and immigration issues. In addition, ECS promotes social and cultural awareness and active citizenship by organizing social events, sport clubs and community celebrations that brings together Ethiopians living in Seattle and its vicinity.
