Who We Are

Our vision is for our All-Stars to be safe and healthy, graduate high school and pursue higher learning, find careers they love, and give back to their communities. ASAS Puget Sound is the first and only ASAS chapter in the Pacific Northwest. In partnership with New York Life Foundation, ASAS Puget Sound launched in 2016 in response to the unmet need for middle school after-school programming in South King County. In our first year, we served more than 200 students in grades 7-8 at Meeker Middle School of Kent School District. We expanded to Dimmitt Middle School (Renton School District) in Fall 2017, and to Showalter Middle School (Tukwila School District) in February 2019. We have grown from serving 220 to 600+ students over the past four school years and will continue expanding throughout the region as our support in the community grows.

What We Do

After-School All-Stars Puget Sound (ASAS) provides free, comprehensive after-school programs that keep students safe and help them succeed in school and life. ASAS is unique for providing free, school-based programming and field trip experiences tailored for middle schoolers, a historically under-served age group. To best equip our students for success, we provide comprehensive programs in the areas of Academic Readiness, Career Exploration, STEM, Wellness, and the Arts. Students select from a variety of program offerings each session throughout the school year, including dance, coding, outdoor education, photography, DJ/music production, DIY and creative arts, “Shark Tank” career exploration, structured sports (basketball, soccer, flag football), culinary arts and more.
