Who We Are - Hugo House is Seattle's literary center, a lively hub where readers and writers gather to celebrate the art of words.
Our Mission- Opening the literary world to everyone who loves books or has a drive to write, Hugo House is a place for people to read words, hear words, and make their own words better.
What We Do
Hugo House was founded 20+ years ago on Capitol Hill to provide a welcoming community for writers, and today is one of the nation’s leading community-based centers for literary education.
Hugo House is a place where people who believe in the power of words to connect us to one another and our deeper truths discover their voice and refine their craft. Through classes for adults, lively youth programs, performances and events for all, Hugo House opens the literary world to everyone who loves books or has a drive to write. In a time when it is more important than ever to celebrate our diversity and share our stories, this mission has special relevance.
