Who We Are
A dedicated team based in Seattle, we link together multiple disciplines in science and policy, connecting the working waterfront with the Ivory Tower to protect seafood at the source. Global Ocean Health has a small core staff and many volunteers, technical consultants, advisors, and collaborators working to ensure the ocean can continue to feed billions of people. We are seeking volunteers and champions in many fields: seafood harvesters, growers, processors and marketers; chefs and foodservice workers; attorneys, executives, educators; experts in many fields of science and policy who share our passion for healthy oceans and recognize the urgent need to reduce pollution.
What We Do
Protect the ocean and fisheries from pollution. We engage people who depend on the healthy waters to be their champions: fishers, tribes, seafood consumers, etc. We empower them to document impacts, adapt, and drive policies and practices to cut pollution that causes ocean acidification and fish-killing thermal stress, while intensifying toxic algae blooms and oxygen loss.
