Who We Are

Scarecrow Video is one of the world's largest publicly available libraries of film and television. We are dedicated to championing the indispensable role of film arts in community, cultural, and civic life. We are committed to: building film literacy, ensuring full public access, advancing cultural and educational enrichment through community-based programming, and supporting the arts capacity of civic groups, educational institutions, and nonprofits. A Seattle institution since 1988 and nonprofit since 2014, Scarecrow Video exists to unite people with film.

What We Do

Scarecrow Video uses our vast library to create communities around our shared love of film. We provide free screenings for older adults at area community and senior centers through our Silver Screeners Program. We host free programs for families who’ve come to depend on the unique combination of storytime, short videos, experiments, and activities during our Children’s Hour. And our screening room schedule features films, lectures, and special programming nearly every night – all free and open to everyone. Scarecrow also partners with local film and arts organizations to support festivals and promote all things film.
