He is the former secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); former mayor of San Antonio, Texas; Co-chair of the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Immigration Task Force; and was honored by the National Housing Conference as the “Housing Person of the Year.” His vision of a strong, resilient society starts with fair housing, stretching beyond race and class.
