Providence Elder Place PACE is a unique and compassionate program that helps older adults stay healthy, independent, and connected to their communities for as long as they choose. As part of our mission, we’re urgently seeking a Haitian Creole-speaking volunteer to bring joy and companionship to one of our participants.
Being a Volunteer Friend
This is a special opportunity to build a meaningful relationship with a Haitian Creole-speaking elder. You’ll connect through phone calls and in-person visits, sharing stories, songs, photos, whatever brings you both joy. Your presence can make a lasting impact.
Who We're Looking For
We’re seeking someone who:
- Speaks Haitian Creole comfortably (beyond beginner level)
- Enjoys engaging conversations
- Has good listening skills
- Is dependable, patient, and compassionate
- Has experience with older adults (a plus, but not required)
As a volunteer, you’ll become part of the Elder Place PACE team, which provides integrated health and social services to older adults.
Who Can Volunteer?
- Adults 18+ can volunteer independently
- Youth under 18 may volunteer with a parent or guardian
- Flexible scheduling—volunteer when it works best for you!
Volunteer Requirements
To ensure a safe and supportive environment, volunteers must complete:
- A Volunteer Application
- Background Screening
- Medical Screening
- Onboarding through Providence Elder Place
