Join Stewardship Partners, the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe, Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust and King County Parks for a planting event along the Tolt River in Carnation, WA. Work includes planting native trees and shrubs in an effort to establish a healthier forested native plant buffer along an important slough channel of the river in a culturally important area for the Tribe. We will provide lunch in the afternoon and light refreshments such as coffee, water and snacks in the morning. Tools and gloves will be available. An overview of the site and project will be given, including why it?s important to the Tribe and for local salmon recovery. We'll also educate volunteers about Stewardship Partners, Mountains to Sound and the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe. We suggest volunteers dress in layers that include long pants, long sleeve shirt and a jacket. Sturdy footwear such as work boots, mud boots, hiking boots or running shoes are recommended. This site is extremely muddy so mud boots or rain boots work best. Please come prepared for the weather by bringing rain gear if you have it and older clothing that you don?t mind getting dirty, wet or muddy.
