Stewardship Partners

We collaborate with diverse interest groups to build bridges and find solutions that achieve mutual goals of environmental protection, economic health, and community well being. Our projects restore fish and wildlife habitat, improve water quality, protect open space, and "green up" the built environment while maintaining working landscapes of farms, forestland, and livable communities throughout the State. Since our inception in 1998, Stewardship Partners has worked with a number of locally developed environmental projects throughout Washington State. We have worked to directly install habitat and also worked to connect groups with necessary resources. Some of our partners include Mid-Sound Fisheries, Nisqually River Council, City of Seattle, all the Conservation Districts, Cascade Land Conservancy, King, Thurston and Pierce counties to name a few. From the Columbia to the Skagit we have worked collectively to actively restore salmon bearing waterways and to educate the public and the importance of such work. We have been committed since the beginning to create a web of partners to ensure the survival of salmon in the Northwest.

There are three main focus projects we tend on a regular basis with endless collaborations and partnership with various stakeholders. Our Rain Garden program has recently committed to installing 12,000 rain gardens within the Puget Sound by 2016. In the Snoqualmie Valley our Stewardship Program has restored 17 miles of the river bank and the Washington state chapter of Salmon Safe, which we run, has certified over 1000 farms and vineyards. At the end of the day our common theme is water quality as it pertains to salmon survival. Given our breadth of work we are able to provide a variety of volunteer opportunities and are always eager to work with the public to promote awareness.
