Open Arms Perinatal Services welcomes community members to our upcoming annual event, Labor of Love. Labor of Love raises critical funds and awareness for our community-based, culturally responsive perinatal programs, and we need YOU to make it a success!
As a volunteer, you’ll receive role training, access to a private space for breaks / secure storage for personal belongings, and plenty of opportunities to connect with other members of our amazing community.
Schedule:
Arrival/Training: 2:30 - 5 PM
Event Start: 5:00 PM
Social: 5:00 - 6:45 PM
Program: 6:45 - 7:30 PM
Dance Party: 7:30 - 9:00 PM
Clean-Up: 9:00 - 10:00 PM
Open Arms seeks out caring community members who are passionate about birth equity and justice. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and complete a background check.

Volunteer Roles
- Set-Up Crew
- Set up activation stations and photo booth
- Decorate tables and main stage
- Check-In
- Check in guests, help them find nametags, pass out activation station passports, and answer any questions
- Pass out party kits to Party Hosts
- Share overview of event schedule and layout of venue space
- Promote activation stations and raffle
- Greeters
- Welcome guests at front and side entrances, helping guests with directions and answering any questions
- Direct guests towards check-in
- Activation Stations
- Support Open Arms staff at stations, engaging guests
- Facilitate activities and share program fact sheets about Open Arms programs
- Organize diapers donated by guests
- Floaters/Guest Engagement
- Encourage guests to engage with activation stations and play games
- Help with directions and answer questions
- Provide support/cover for other volunteers as needed, ensuring everyone has breaks
- Photo Booth Assistants
- Facilitate photo booth and organize props
- Raffle Ticket Sellers
- Promote raffle, sharing about available items and encouraging guests to buy tickets
- Sell tickets, facilitating payment via provided QR code or accepting cash/checks; deliver payment to Development Staff/Volunteer Coordinator
- Volunteers may either be stationed at raffle table or be assigned to float around venue space
- Clean-Up Crew
- Take down decorations
- Make sure all Open Arms items are accounted for and returned to storage
- Break down activation stations and photo booth
