Description

Join Dirt Corps this August in observation of World Water Week (later in the month) to care for this section of the West Duwamish Greenbelt. We'll talk about water and how this forest interacts with our water ways here in Seattle. We'll also remove non-native weeds (looking at you, blackberry!) from our restoration area and apply mulch to bare ground to help the native plants there grow and thrive and to make way for new native plantings in the fall. We hope to see you there!

Please bring with you what you will need to be comfortable whilst spending a few hours working outside. Dress in clothed layers for the weather, and consider bringing additional dry, insulating, or waterproof layers. Remember to bring water, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, or any other accessories to protect yourself from the elements. Remember that blackberry thorns are sharp and can snag clothing, and that the terrain may be uneven and/or wet. We will be providing gloves and tools for all to use, as well as snacks, hot drinks, and water.
