Volunteer shifts at Seattle Public Library are:
- Shift 1: Mondays, from 11:00AM - 2:00PM
- Shift 2: Mondays, from 2:00PM - 5:00PM
- Shift 3: Tuesdays, from 12:30PM – 3:30PM
- Shift 4: Tuesdays, from 3:30PM – 6:30PM
- Shift 5: Wednesdays, from 12:30PM – 3:30PM
- Shift 6: Wednesdays, from 3:30PM – 6:30PM
- Shift 7: Thursdays, from 12:30PM – 3:30PM
- Shift 8: Thursdays, from 3:30PM – 6:30PM
- Shift 9: Saturdays, from 11:00AM - 2:00PM [Experienced Volunteers Only]
- Shift 10: Saturdays, from 2:00PM - 5:00PM [Experienced Volunteers Only]
- Shift 11: Sundays, from 11:00AM - 2:00PM
- Shift 12: Sundays, from 2:00PM - 5:00PM

Below you will find the date and start time of your first weekly shift. This date and time will correspond to your shift choice for the rest of the season. Please note: We ask volunteers to commit to 1 weekly 3 hour shift for the duration of the tax season: 1/20/2026 – 4/19/2026 (13 shifts over 13 weeks).
Note: Due to MLK Day, the first Monday shift at this site will be 1/26. The first calendar shift will be Tuesday, 1/20.
Please also note: Saturdays at SPL are largely staffed by students from SeattleU; however, we are opening up a few slots for experienced volunteers who would like to join the shift to help support the students. If you are not an experienced volunteer and are not comfortable spending some of your shift time assisting students, please do not sign up for a Saturday shift.

For example:
You select “Wed Jan 21 @ 12:30 pm, duration: 3 hours.”
This means your reoccurring volunteer shift will be every Wednesday from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
