Stage and Rally Support volunteers create a positive experience for guest speakers, performers, and community members who attend the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration rally in the Garfield High School gym.
Volunteers will:
- help set-up for the rally in the Garfield gym
- support speakers and entertainment on the stage
- greet/hand-out programs for arriving guests
- help anyone with special needs (such as guide people with visual impairments or disabilities)
- following the rally, volunteers will help tidy the gym
You may be split into sub-teams to focus on specific tasks.
Once your volunteer shift is done, you are welcome to join the march to downtown and meal. Information on activities - including youth event & virtual workshops prior to MLK Day - is updated regularly at www.seattlemlkcoalition.org #MLKSeattle
To ensure the safety of everyone at our events, we still encourage healthy practices such as staying home when sick, washing hands regularly, and listening to healthcare experts as new information becomes available.
