Become a Seattle Tree Steward! Join Trees for Neighborhoods and Dirt Corps for our next tree care skill share and volunteer work party at the special wetland ecosystem of Webster Pond! We will learn how to mulch trees to protect them during the summer by increasing water retention and cooling down the soil around the tree roots. We will also be highlighting some of the amazing native pollinators that ensure our trees bear fruit and have seeds for the summer! Creating pollinator habitat, especially for ground-nesting bees is crucial for happy and healthy trees!
All ages and skill levels are welcome! Please wear clothing that can get dirty, including long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toed shoes. We’ll be working rain or shine, so everyone is encouraged to dress for the weather and wear layers if you can. We’ll provide the tools, gloves, snacks, hot drinks, and water.
