Position Reports To: Volunteer/Staff Supervisor
Position Description:
- Match shelter residents with loving, well-suited, lifelong guardians by, among other undertakings, getting to know our feline residents, interviewing potential adopters, and reviewing adoption applications.
- Proactively engage and provide outstanding customer service to all shelter visitors and potential adopters.
- Educate potential adopters about MEOW’s adoption policies.
- Attend continuing education sessions offered through MEOW and relating to adoption counseling.
- Assist with other shelter-related tasks as necessary, requested, and/or able.
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Completion of MEOW’s Volunteer Orientation and Cat Handling Training.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A desire to change lives through education and match-making.

Working Conditions:*
- Subject to cat bites and scratches.
- Exposure to chemicals (e.g., cleaning products) and prescribed drugs (e.g., topical medications).
- Exposure to zoonotic diseases.
Physical Demands:*
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
- Regular lifting to 15 pounds and occasional lifting of 10-35 pounds, with reasonable accommodations.
Commitment: One shift (3-5 hours) per week.
