Description

Safe Harbor Stables in Redmond Washington is seeking dedicated and energetic volunteers to assist with daily barn chores. This is a highly physical role that directly supports the well-being of our rescue horses. No horse experience is necessary and we will train you to do the job.  


As a Barn Chore Volunteer, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Cleaning horse stalls and paddocks 

  • Scrubbing grain pans and sweeping barn aisles and shelter mats 

  • Feeding and watering the horses 

  • Other farm/barn maintenance 

  • Providing much-needed care and affection to the SAFE rescue horses 

Volunteer Requirements: 

  • Must be 16 years or older to volunteer independently 

  • Volunteers aged 8-15 are welcome with a parent/guardian volunteering alongside them 

  • A virtual orientation and training are required for all new volunteers and are offered regularly each month 

  • A minimum commitment of one shift per week for at least three months is preferred 

Available Shifts: 

  • Morning Shift: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM 

  • Evening Shift: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM 

  • Shifts are available seven days a week
