Join El Centro de la Raza's 12th annual celebration of Día de los Muertos. We will open the ofrenda exhibit, serve a free dinner, and celebrate the memory of those who have passed. Like so many events, this night would not be possible without volunteers! We are currently looking for volunteers for the following positions:
MONDAY OCTOBER 31st
- ORENDA/HALL DECORATION (5) | 8:00am-5:00pm
- FOOD PREP| 3:0000-5:00PM (3): Assist in the kitchen to Prep for Nov 2nd.
TUESDAY NOVEMBER 1st
- SET-UP| 1-4 PM (15): Help get the building ready for the Dia de los Muertos celebration! Set up dining area, chairs, kid’s activities and any last minute decorations.
- FOOD PREP| 3-8 PM (4): Assist in the kitchen to Prep for Nov 1st.
- FOOD SERVICE|4:30-8 PM (20): Help serve a delicious dinner to the community. Volunteers will help serve dinner, drinks, chocolate and pan dulce, as well as keep the kitchen and dining area clean.
- CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES| 4:30-8 PM (8): Connect with kids in the community as you help them decorate sugar skulls and masks, and help with face-painting.
- GREETERS|5:00-8 PM (8): Welcome guests to the event and help direct them to the dining room, various ofrendas, and children’s activities.
- DONATION COLLECTION AND T-SHIRT SALES| 5:00-8 PM (8): Sell Dia de los Muertos t-shirts, and help collect donations to support the event.
- PHOTOGRAPHERS| 5:00-8 PM (3): Capture the action and document the fun for El Centro de la Raza’s history.
- PARKING LOT ASSISTANCE| 4:00-7:30 PM (12): Help direct guests to available parking and keep traffic in the parking lots flowing smoothly.
- CLEAN UP| 8-9:30 PM (10): Help clean up El Centro de la Raza after the event.
