Help homeless families have a Christmas!
Sponsor a family from 1 child to 12, with 2 presents per child, and a grocery store gift card for mom!
Who does Adopt-A-Family serve? The families who sign up to receive holiday assistance are current YWCA clients, living in our shelters, fleeing domestic violence or in young parent units. Some are in transitional housing, and housing for Veterans with PTSD. These families are on the road to self-sufficiency and are receiving assistance with job training, housing, counseling and other services. They are working hard to improve their lives!
You can share the spirit of the season with one of these families. Participate as an individual sponsor or organize a group of friends or co-workers. Families range in size from 1-10 or more people. For each family member, you are signing up to provide two gifts in the $35-40 each range plus a grocery store gift card for the parents at a min of $50. This information may help you decide what size family you would like to sponsor. That means it will cost $120 to sponsor a family of 1child and you can double that for a family of 2 and so on, please take that into account when you decide family size.
Once you decide I will be matching soon after. You will receive multiple emails from me and can reach out at any time. We do try and have all families adopted by Black Friday. Then your presents are all to be dropped off the week of Dec. 10th-14th 8am-6pm* at our borrowed space on 312 Dexter Ave N warehouse ! They should all be wrapped and say from Santa! I hope that gets you started with some info, and let me know if you have any further questions. Once you are ready to commit, email me back with how many families you’d like to sponsor and how many kids. Next we do the matching and then give you all the information on "your" family to shop for and other important details.

* On Dec 13th, Elves will be available until 4pm to accept presents, and until 12pm on Dec 14th.
