Global Acts of Compassion (GAC) is searching for a new Board of Directors as we grow and transition our founders into other staff roles. Volunteering on a nonprofit's Board is a great way to add to your nonprofit resume, learn about the industry, and REALLY make an impact in the world by serving as an integral part of an organization. Our movement addresses income inequality, providing aid for the homeless, environmental consciousness, and educating communities on the necessity of practicing compassion regularly with one another and the eco-system.
This will be our third year running, and we have come along way in that time. We have hosted 4 Community Free Markets where people take or leave belongings and food for one another, learn about sustainability, and engage with their community in an atmosphere that promotes acceptance and equality all the while. We also launched a beta of our program Tips For Humanity, where customers at participating local restaurants are able to donate money towards a stranger in need's future meal. To learn more about us, visit us at facebook.com/globalactsofcompassion.
This year we aim to expand Tips For Humanity, file our 501(c)(3) status (we have the funding for this, we just need to transition our board in order to file so our application is up to date), get our website back up and running and make it more comprehensive, and of course, transition our Board!
Below you will see the list of Board Positions available, as well as the criteria we are searching for in our applicants. In order to apply, please email globalactsofcompassion@gmail.com with your resume and a cover letter explaining why you would be fit for this role. Please remember to include which Board Position you are applying for in your cover letter! :)
