Position Title: Phone Bank Volunteer
Purpose: Volunteers place phone calls to supporters and voters around our county to support our legislative priorities and ballot initiatives for the upcoming local 2017 election cycle. Subject matters varies extensively, including immigration reform, reminders to voters turn out at the ballot, education reform of K-12 schools, information for rallies against hate crimes, information about your legislator's stance on environmental issues, and many other issues that arise within our world.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Provide information about policies and issues that are on the 2017 voting ballot
- Encourage voters to commit to vote on policies and issues that OneAmerica endorses for the 2017 local election
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Complete a volunteer application
- Interest in immigrant communities and sincere desire to support others in achieving their goals
- Basic knowledge of technology (internet, email and phone)
- Previous phone banking a plus
- Receive brief training/orientation on the issues prior to each phone bank session
Time Commitment: varied (weekday evenings from 6-8pm)
- September - November in preparation for the local and state elections for 2017 in the King County, Mt Vernon, Yakima, Vancouver and other areas.
