United Way of King County wants to help every student become a Breakfast Brain. What does that mean? When kids eat better, they learn better. 75% of public school teachers say that students regularly come to school hungry. Busy lives and other factors make it hard for families to sit down for a nutritious breakfast. That’s why encouraging students to eat school breakfast is so important. It’s a lot easier for kids to focus and learn when they have eaten.
join our Fuel Your Future Team to help put together back to school appreciation kits for teachers and school staff at our Fuel Your Future Schools. We want to appreciate school staff and also celebrate the school-wide kick-off for starting a breakfast after the bell model!
This opportunity is open to young professionals in their 20s and 30s as part of our Emerging Leaders program.
