MoNA’s renewed mission and vision, and its policy of free admission has made Northwest art accessible to everyone. The museum’s ambitious programming, acclaimed MoNA Link education program, and expanding outreach efforts ensure that all of our diverse community can be transformed by art experiences.
Now in its 36th year, MoNA has announced strategic goals to serve the community:
1. Become a regional leader in Northwest art
2. Provide access to a pre-eminent collection of Northwest art
3. Offer an outstanding visitor experience
4. Provide a stimulating environment and programming
5. Serve and reflect our diverse community
6. Update infrastructure and facilities
7. Ensure long-term financial sustainability
To achieve these ambitious goals, MoNA’s Board of Trustees will recruit new members from the broader Puget Sound region. Candidates should be advocates for the importance of art and art education, seek to make a difference in their community, and should commit to donor cultivation and stewardship. Sought after skills include information analysis and financial acumen.
Diversity of age, background and experience is encouraged, with particular (though not exclusive) interest in candidates who are under-50, Latino or Native American, LGBTQ and from outside Skagit County. Connection to the business community is a plus.
