Our goal is to bring art to EVERY classroom at our elementary school. Volunteers present art lessons in classrooms once a month for about an hour. No experience or art talent is necessary. Training and lesson samples are provided. Background check by Kent School District is required.
Time and commitment for one classroom involves:
- Each month October - May, prepare and teach a 1 hour class.
- Expect to spend between 2-3 hours each month on project preparation, setup, cleanup and art work mounting.
- Lessons will be during the school day 9am-4pm. Time of specific lessons will be coordinated between individual volunteers and classroom teachers.
- Attend a free class at Green River College that will provide you with basic training for teaching art to kids in the classroom.
- Help out at the end of May for our annual Art Walk!
