Our middle and high school students (Grades 7-12) will take action by participating in the Martin Luther King Jr.Teen March. You'll have the opportunity to participate in sign-making with the students and a discussion about Martin Luther King's role in social justice.
Does your work involve immigrant rights, racial justice, economic justice, educational equity, or environmental justice? We need your expertise! A critical part of Dr. King’s legacy is educating youth to take on the challenges facing this generation and your experience would be powerful in this conversation.
You'll also be able to participate in the march with the group! The march begins at 11 a.m. on January 13th at Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Park and teens will lead the march to Rainier Community Center.
Our goal is to raise awareness of the role of racial and social justice by utilizing a historical perspective to discuss current social justice efforts, specifically as it relates to immigrant rights and undocumented immigrants. Our staff will guide you and our students through a reflection and give examples of work that embodies the continued fight for justice.
