More than 12% of King County students live in poverty. When families are forced to make choices between food on the table or keeping the lights on, kids often go without. Fuel Your Future levels the playing field by increasing access to healthy foods.
Our Fuel Your Future AmeriCorps members have been hard at work partnering with schools throughout King County implementing Breakfast After the Bell, launching after-school supper programs, and hosting community connection events.
Family Market Nights are an after school opportunity to continue building out nutrition hubs in schools by engaging kids and families in building healthy habits through cooking demonstrations, nutrition education activities, and learning about fresh produce.
Volunteers are needed for set-up, engaging kids in activities during the event, breakdown and cleanup.
