Description

The annual Big Day of Play is a celebration of our City’s diversity and it encourages neighbors, communities and families to have fun, build relationships and be active together. This year's event takes place on Saturday, August 18th from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the Rainier Community Center and Playfields and is presented by Seattle Parks and Recreation's Get Moving Initiative with support from Kaiser Permanente.

The Big Day of Play cannot happen without the support of volunteers!

Make new friends and bond with your community while helping make the Big Day of Play a success. You’ll receive free snacks, event "swag" and a free swim at Seattle Parks and Recreation’s pools for your time and support. Check out the opportunities listed here for details about how you can be a part of an event that attracts thousands of families from all over the City.

In this role you will encourage and educate guests about composting! Sort compost at the recycling and compost stations to ensure this event achieves the goal of being zero-waste.

Volunteers in this role will be outdoors in warm/hot weather and will be standing for their shift. Because of the important nature of the work, all volunteers in this role will receive passes to swim at any Parks & Recreation-run swimming pool!

Volunteers in this role must be 14+ years old.
