Sand Point Arts and Cultural Exchange (SPACE), funds, facilitates and promotes arts and cultural uses of Warren G. Magnuson Park for the public, serving diverse audiences and forging regional collaborations.
Since 1994, SPACE has helped develop a vision for arts and culture at the park, and, working closely with the City of Seattle, has advocated for creative re-use of the buildings within the Sand Point Historic District. SPACE envisions thriving arts and cultural activities at Magnuson Park, integrated with the community and fully engaged with and benefitting from the broader public.
SPACE is actively recruiting new board members from the Seattle community with an emphasis on the greater NE Seattle area. SPACE’s board members will serve a three-year term to be eligible for re-appointment for one additional term. Board meetings will be held bi-monthly and committee meetings will be held in coordination with full board meetings.
The Board of directors is legally and fiscally responsible for all activities of Sand Point Arts and Cultural Exchange. The board makes policy decisions, approves and monitors the budget, assures adequate funding and carries out SPACE's mission.
SPACE is looking for potential candidates who have a passion for arts and culture at Warren G. Magnusson Park. In addition, seeks inclusiveness and enjoys working with diverse community members, including fellow board members, staff, volunteers, community leaders and artists.
