Description

It's time for Duwamish Alive!

Join DIRT Corps at South Orcas Street roadside rain gardens for Duwamish Alive!, and learn about how green stormwater infrastructure works, and how to keep it looking and functioning well. This site is almost 8 years old and represents a "mature" rain garden site that was initiated by neighbors and green stormwater leaders, and is maintained by the community in Georgetown, right next to the Duwamish River. Volunteers will weed out invasive plants, and learn how to prune and divide native plants.

Duwamish Alive collaborates with community, municipalities, non-profits and businesses within the Duwamish River Watershed to preserve and enhance habitat for people and wildlife, towards improving the health of the Puget Sound. Duwamish Alive! events involve hands-on habitat restoration and outreach activities in the Duwamish River Watershed with the greater Seattle and Tukwila communities.

Come Join us for this biannual event!
